InFocus : South South Matchmaker Workshop on Public Service

The Global South-South Development (GSSD) Expo is an annual event organized by the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) in its capacity as the General Assembly mandated global and United Nations system-wide coordinator and facilitator for South-South and triangular cooperation. The GSSD Expo 2022 will be co-hosted by the Government of Thailand and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific and scheduled to take place from 12 to 14 September 2022. A number of side-events along with a main event are convened at the GSSD Expo.

A side-event titled “Effective Matchmaking for Public Service Innovations through South-South Network” is going to take place on the sidelines of the Global South South Development Expo (GSSD) 2022 on 14 September at 10:00- 12:00 PM (Bangkok Time) at the UN Conference Centre in Bangkok. The side event is co-organized by the Government of Bangladesh, the UN Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) and the South-South Network for Public Service Innovation. During the side event, the Network will launch the 3rd volume of the South-South Matchmaker (Best Practices 2021-22) which contains 15 high potential best practices from Global Southern Countries around the world, followed by a Matchmaking Session.

The side-event will bring together stakeholders in public service innovation from governments, private sector organizations, and other non-state actors. Practitioners, experts and academics will share and exchange their development solutions, ideas, and challenges focusing on public service delivery during the matchmaking workshop. Participants can attend the 3-days long Expo as well as the side event which will enrich their knowledge, experience and network.
