Md. Whaheed Alam
Md. Whaheed Alam is the Research Specialist with the Aspire to Innovate (a2i) Programme, ICT Division to lead the research team and documentation processes of a2i. He is responsible to develop research map, coordinate internal and external research, impact evaluations and assessments pertaining to Digital Bangladesh agenda, public service innovations and transformations and disseminate accompanying knowledge products nationally and internationally.
He has been a researcher, policy analyst and development activist for the last 20 years in the non-profit sector. He has worked at UNDP Bangladesh, Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB), CARE Bangladesh and Gono Sahajjo Sangstha (GSS) in different capacities as a researcher, M&E and communication professional. His professional attachments and research expertise include anti-corruption and governance in various public services, institutions of democratic governance, Sustainable Development Goals, money laundering, poverty alleviation, maternal and newborn health, livelihood and life skill development of disadvantaged women in rural Bangladesh. His research career has enabled him to apply quantitative and qualitative research techniques including survey techniques, statistical and econometric analysis in different context and settings.
His received masters in Statistics from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh, Masters in Public Administration (MPA) from Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore and International Political Economy from S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
